“It is interesting to learn from Japan's old wisdom and culture and discover new things. Everyday life, travel, history, encounters, farewells... I think these are the fuel for me to create my works. Plants absorb water and nutrients through their roots, allowing them to grow. Its roots work in the soil. We work in places you can't see. If possible, I would like to learn from the way plants live. I am interested in the relationships between objects, people, and spaces, and as I create my works, I explore the shapes and meanings of objects.” Masumi Yamauchi
