Stories of Philosophies is a series of animated short films, featuring famous philosophers as main characters, both early and contemporary. Each film presents a philosopher reacting to the presence of an object in the manner of his well-known philosophical vision and gives a new answer to the general equation:
1 PHILOSOPHER + 1 OBJECT + 1 MINUTE = 1 CARTOON!
This printed archive compiles a selection of preparative drawings and film samples featuring Diogenes, Nietzsche, Sextus Empiricus, Descartes, Cioran, Leibniz, Wittgenstein, Plato and Derrida interacting with a pen, a mirror and a chair. Damien Cuypers and Benoît Stoeber were both born in a hospital... in France... in 1983... from «the Heights of Despair» they happily slalom between art, philosophy, cartoons...
