Elene Chantladze was born in Supsa, Georgia, in 1946. She currently lives and works in Tskaltubo, Georgia. Throughout her life, Chantladze has dedicated herself to storytelling, keeping diaries, imagining theatrical plays, composing poetry, and painting. Her art serves as a profound reflection of her existence, characterized by a dreamy atmosphere and fable-like scenarios conveyed through a powerful and relatable language. Chantladze’s work is not formally constrained by traditional approaches to the medium but is expressed through a style of naive poetic surrealism. It invites viewers to rediscover the world through the eyes of an outsider, far removed from the influences of major cities and art centers.
